My name is Aaron Murdoch and I currently work as a Test Proctor at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). I am a full-time student and a freelance writer for various publications in Jacksonville, FL.
I am the founder of JAX-FREE, a website dedicated to finding the best free events and services available in the city of Jacksonville. It is fulfilling to me to help the citizens within my community discover cool free events that have value.
My goal is to work full-time for FSCJ in either the career, alumni or testing departments to be a part of the life-long learning journey. Growing my website and being able to make it profitable would be another goal I would like to see come to fruition.
Originally, I am from Lindsay, Ontario Canada and have spent most of my life there. I moved to Jacksonville in 2008 and have never looked back.
The best book I’ve ever read is titled “The Shaping Room.” It was a novel that I read in middle school and remember the creativity and uniqueness that went into that creation. The book has always stuck with me because it took me to a different world, semi-realistic and semi-fantasy,
Things that make me happy are ice cream, a good paying job and staying healthy. If one remains in good physical condition, I believe everything else will fall into place.
The things that make me mad are mean drivers who are aggressive behind the wheel. It’s like they become a completely different person once they step inside the vehicle. To me, it is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde syndrome.
My idea of a fun day is being able to sleep in until I’m ready to get up. Then, eating some bacon, eggs, hash browns and a coffee to make my breakfast complete. Going hiking, completing projects around the house and working on my website makes my day complete.
One thing that I probably know way too much about is mixed martial arts. I’ve been following the sport for a long time now and it is my favorite pastime.
